Top 3 starting heroes

Early in the game, the best way to increase a Heroes power is by Upgrading their Stars. This also unlocks the next tier of the Hero’s skills. Thus, we will focus on heroes who’s Hero shards are easier to obtain in large quantity, who have good skills in most game modes, and that pair well with other early heroes.

El Cid is the best starting Infantry hero. You will get plenty of Hero shards and Hero Badges to upgrade El Cid by doing daily tasks like completing Intel from the Hawk Watch and rewards from defeating Hellwatchers. El Cid also has the Invader passive bonus, that grants troops attacking invaders, a percent increase in all troops defense. His active skill is also very useful in most game modes as it provides good damage mitigation and AOE supplemental damage.

“Mochi”, for short, ,is by far the best Calvary hero you can level early. There are many early events that allow you to collect tons of Hero Shards for upgrading stars. Mochi also has the Invader passive, that works well in combination with El Cid’s. Mochi’s Invader passive provides a percentage increase in troop HP. Her active skill “Dance of Death” provides decent damage mitigation (in the form of dodge) and decent AOE damage (like El Cid) – although it does lack damage against troops (unlike the other option: Nefertari)

Nubia unfortunately wins this spot by default. There is no other Archer hero that you will get a substantial amount of hero shards for. Like El Cid, you can acquire many hero shards from daily tasks like Intel and Hellwatchers. Her passive is pretty terrible early game, as you won’t be needing much stone, but again, there really is no other option. Her active skill “Scorching Flames” is pretty lackluster, but due to the abundance of epic tomes, you will max it out quickly. At max level, her skill should out damage most other options.

With these 3 heroes you should be able to kill Invaders really easily and have enough hero shards and badges to quickly power level the stars so you can stay competitive in many game modes.

Eventually you will want to replace Mochi for Valkyrie and Nubia for Queen of Shiba or another Epic.
