Call of Dragons Spending Guides
This spending guide will teach you the most efficient ways of spending in Call of Dragons depending on if you are a light, medium, or heavy spender.
Type of Spender & Budget
Type of budget: $ Light, $$ Medium, $$$ High
To provide appropriate recommendations, let’s first define the different types of spenders in the game, ranging from free-to-play players to large spenders.
- Free-to-play: These players do not spend any money on Call of Dragons.
- Light Spenders: This group spends the minimum amount required to avoid significant disadvantage. Most players fall into this category, with a monthly budget of around $30 USD. Light Spenders typically purchase the second builder queue, the two monthly packs, the Insight Rune rewards from the seasonal pass (such as Devout Prayer or Light’s Inspiration pack from the premium challenge rewards), the Growth fund, and may occasionally take advantage of deals to unlock progression-based purchase-tier rewards.
- Medium Spenders: These players purchase everything that Light Spenders buy, along with additional items such as daily deals, certain levels of spin wheels, choice value bundles, the one-time gem purchase bonus, and occasional pop-up offers. With a larger budget, typically averaging $400 per month, Medium Spenders prioritize acquiring all available value purchases without worrying about choosing between options.
- Large Spenders: This group doesn’t have a set budget and is focused on progressing through the game as quickly as possible, gaining a significant advantage over other players. Large Spenders are willing to invest thousands of USD per month to achieve this goal. They purchase everything that Medium Spenders buy and freely indulge in additional purchases, driven by the desire to become the most powerful player on the server. Their budget exceeds $1,000 per month, reflecting their readiness to spend significant amounts (thousands per month).
Packs, Deals, and Offers
Unlockable Tiered Purchase Rewards
Who should buy? Light, Medium, and High spenders
Make sure to unlock all of these rewards while making your purchases within your budget. Gem reward thresholds are: 1,000/3,000/8,000/18,000 for a total of 30,000 gems.
Note: The text “make another purchase and receive X gems” seems to be a mistranslation. It should read: “You need to spend and acquire X amount of gems before rewards are unlocked”. The text acts as a counter and is not an indication of gem rewards.
Unique 1-time Purchases
Who should buy? Light, Medium, and High spenders
Unlock Second Builder Queue: This is an essential purchase in Call of Dragons that greatly accelerates your account growth. For just $5 USD, it is highly recommended to invest in this deal.
Growth Fund: This pack offers incredible value, providing over 80,000 gems for only $10. If you are planning to spend in the game, it is highly recommended to purchase the Growth Fund.
Monthly Packs $3 | $5 monthly
Who should buy? Light, Medium, and High spenders
Basic Monthly Pack – $3 USD for 15 gold keys, 6,750 gems, 50 hours worth of speed-ups and 3,000 command points worth of Basic CP items.
Advanced Monthly Pack – Is basically double the value of the monthly pack at only 66.6% increase in cost. At $5 USD for 30 gold keys, 13,500 gems, 90 hours worth of speed-ups, and 6,000 command points worth of Basic CP items. (600,000 more mana than Basic Monthly Pack)
Note: the Basic CP items are critical at the beginning of a season, to level up your heroes, as their levels are reset.
Insight Rune (Seasonal) $10 | $20
Who should buy? Light, Medium, and High spenders
Insight Rune is only purchasable once each season. There are two options. Devout Prayer and Light’s Inspiration. Devout Prayer should be considered by light spenders while Light’s Inspiration should be considered by both Medium and High Spender, as it allows you to progress through the Insight Rune faster and get additional rewards at the end.
Note: This provides Standard CP Recovery items, so if you are planning on purchasing Insight Rune you should do so early in the season when CP is most valuable.
Pop-ups $5+ each
Who should buy? Light, Medium, and High spenders
Pop-ups appear when a hero has gained experience and reached a specific level, a new hero or artifact is unlocked. Legendary Trailblazer is by far the best deal. If you see this bundle buy it without hesitation.
Honor Exclusive (VIP)
Who should buy? Medium, and High spenders
Light spenders should buy enough Liliya packs to unlock her and upgrade her first skill to it’s maximum. Medium and high spenders should purchase all packs for $194 – this will buy you enough Liliya tokens to upgrade her skills to their maximum. High Spenders should unlock and max out Hosk for $390.

Daily Deals $3 Pack, daily
Who should buy? Medium, and High spenders
The main selling point of the Daily deals is that it offer amazing opportunities for medium spenders to easily upgrade their desired heroes to a configuration of 5/1/1/1 and beyond – as each daily deal has a chance at giving you a quantity of legendary hero tokens for a chosen Legendary hero. For $3 USD you can purchase all 3 Daily Deals for 3 chances at obtaining legendary hero tokens on top of 8-hours of speedups, 5 silver keys, 1 gold key, 1,200 gems, 750 honor points, and 600,000 resources.
Gem Market
Who should buy? Medium, and High spenders
The Gem market is most appealing for medium and high spenders to purchase the once-per-season $99 USD double gem bonus to gain 50,000 gems. After the double-gem bonus has been consumed, the Gem Market is regarded to give the least amount of value per dollar spent and does not offer further discounts. From this point forward, it is typically only used by high spenders as necessary to expedite certain technology or buildings.
Spin Wheels
Who should buy? High spenders
You can find the spin wheel event packs in the market under Great Value Bundles. They start at $5 and increase in price each time you buy. If you discount the tier rewards, the spin wheel rewards are completely random. If you get unlucky it can be extremely costly to acquire hero card(s) and hero token rewards.
Value Bundles
Who should buy? High spenders
Each bundle can be purchased to the maximum limit daily and has tiers. As you progress through the tiers, the rewards and cost of each subsequent purchase increase.
The Heroes of Tamaris bundle stands out as the best value option. By purchasing all four tiers, you will acquire 40 hero tokens at a cost of $185. This bundle allows you to quickly maximize a hero’s skill, making it highly recommended.
Another bundle worth considering is the Treasure of Tamris. This bundle is particularly beneficial at the start of a new season, as it provides a significant boost to your artifact levels.
It is not recommended to purchase the other bundles unless you are in urgent need of mana and speedups.
