Conquering and Occupying a Pass from the Darklings

Conquering a pass from the Darklings and establishing control over it requires careful planning and coordination within your alliance. By following these steps, you can increase your chances of a successful capture:

1. Scout the Pass and Identify Unit Types: Begin by scouting the pass to gather crucial information about the types of units present. This will allow you to determine the appropriate hero pairings and unit types needed to counter the enemy forces effectively.
2. Select Proper Hero Pairings and Unit Types: Based on the scouting report, carefully choose the hero pairings and unit types that have an advantage against the enemy units in the pass. This strategic selection will give you an edge during the battle.
3. Equip proper Artifacts: If your rally leader has the Blood Banner artifact, it is ideal that they equip it for maximum damage and efficiency. If they don’t, Fang of Ashkari is a good substitute.
4. Position Cities near the Pass: Instruct all alliance members to relocate their cities as close to the pass as possible. This proximity will ensure quick reinforcement and support during the ongoing conflict.
5. March Ideal Unit Types Close to the Pass: Have all alliance members send their ideal unit types to march towards the pass. This concentrated force will prepare for the upcoming rally and increase your chances of a successful capture.
6. Start the Rally: Designate a rally leader to initiate the rally against the Darklings. The rally leader should begin the march towards the pass, signaling the alliance’s united front.
7. Joining the Rally: Members with the highest tier and quantity of units should join the rally first. To do so, click on the Rally Beacon in your city and select “War” or access the Alliance menu under “War.” Choose the desired rally and select the troops you wish to send.
8. Idling Members Joining the Rally: As space becomes available in the rally, instruct all idling members near the pass to join the ongoing rally. To join, click on the rally legion on the field, and a pop-up with a green plus sign should appear. Clicking this “Join Rally” button will automatically merge your march into the rally legion.
9. Avoid Individual Attacks: Emphasize to alliance members that attacking the pass individually is counterproductive. The pass is heavily guarded with numerous high-level enemy units. Engaging them individually will result in substantial damage and limited contribution to the overall objective of capturing the pass from the Darklings.
10. Replenishing your Legions: When your legion gets low, manually leave the rally, head back to your city, heal your troops, and immediately send your troops back toward the rally. Stand next to it and be prepared to rejoin the rally as soon as a spot becomes available in the rally.
