Call of Dragons Giant Bear Guide

Giant Bear

The Giant Bear is the initial Behemoth encounter in Call of Dragon. Its mechanics are straightforward: keep a safe distance to avoid melee area-of-effect damage and dodge its telegraphed wind-up attacks.

Giant Bear skills

After charging up, Giant Bear smashes the ground, knocking surrounding Legions Airborne and dealing Physical Skill damage (15% of legions max unit count)

Mad Dash

After a short charge-up, Giant Bear rushes forward, dealing Physical Skill damage to all enemy Legions in its path. (50% of legions max unit count)

Dumbstruck

If Giant Bear does not hit any Legions while charging, then it is briefly Stunned, and its DEF is reduced by 20%. Healing Manastone also appears in its Lair; gather it to heal lightly wounded units.

Giant Bear guide

Tank Positioning: The tanks should engage the Giant Bear in the center of the arena, while secondary and tertiary tanks stay positioned behind the bear to avoid its swipe attacks. The rest of the raid should attack from range. It is crucial to stay away from the bear’s frontal cone swipe attack, short area-of-effect stomp attack, and longer-range wind-up area-of-effect slam attack. Melee players should be cautious and avoid participating in this fight due to the bear’s attacks.

Charge Attack Phase: At approximately every 25% of the Giant Bear’s health, it will perform an arena-wide stomp, causing players to be briefly stunned. Following this stomp, the bear initiates a wind-up charge attack. Once fully charged, the bear charges forward in a straight line, hitting all players along its path. Players must dodge this attack to avoid damage. With each subsequent 25% health threshold, the bear adds an additional charge attack, increasing the frequency. If all players successfully dodge the charge attacks, the bear will hit the wall and become stunned, allowing for increased damage due to its reduced defense.

Healing Manstones: After the charge attack sequence is completed, the Giant Bear will release Healing Manstones. Players can channel these stones to activate radial healing waves that restore health to nearby players. It is important to take advantage of this healing opportunity. Continue cycling through the non-charging and charging phases until you successfully defeat the Giant Bear.

Tips

  • It is advisable to avoid bringing melee characters to the fight, as the Giant Bear possesses three short-range area-of-effect attacks. Ranged units are more suitable for this battle.
  • During this stun phase, it is recommended to utilize Artifact skills to maximize damage output. However, if players get hit by the charge attack, the bear becomes frenzied and continuously casts rend at players.
  • In the Elite version of the raid the Giant Bear will have 150% increase Health Points, Attack, and Defense. Reduces enemy legion’s march speed by 30%. Has a 30% chance to inflict Bleed when dealing damage to targets. Bleed deals Physical Skill damage every second for 3s (Damage Factor 500). Every time Giant Bear hits a legion while charging, it deals 1% more damage (effect can stack).

Elite Version:

  • Giant Bear has 150% increased health points, attack, and defence.
  • Legions have 30% reduced march speed.
  • Giant Bear has 30% chance to inflict bleed, doing 500 physical skill damage every second for 3 seconds, when dealing damage to targets.
  • Every time Giant Bear hits a legion while charging, it deals 1% more damage (effect can stack).
