Call of Dragons Nico Guide
Talents: CoD Heroes Engineering Marksman Precision
Nico possesses powerful skills that revolve around the use of rage abilities. His active skill, "Piercing Shot," applies a defense reduction affliction that can be activated every 7 seconds when talented for rage. The affliction lasts for 3 seconds, with only 4 seconds of downtime between debuffs. Additionally, his fourth skill grants him Onslaught and Riposte after casting a rage ability once every 7 seconds. To maximize efficiency, it is advisable to cast a rage skill every 7 seconds, as your deputy will follow up with a second rage skill on the 8th second. While pairing Nico with Kinnara for maximum counterattack damage is ideal, he can also work well with other heroes in normal attack builds.

Nico skill upgrade order
- 1Prioritize maxing Nico's first skill to level 5.
- 2Â Then, level Nico to level 30 and promote him to 4 medals to unlock his next 3 skills. This is because skill level upgrades are random, and you want to increase the chances of avoiding leveling up the second skill, which only enhances Engineering and has no impact on combat.
Nico Hero Pairings
Nico Talent Builds
Nico+Kinnara | Open-field PvP, Multi-Target, Counter ATK DMG
This build capitalizes on the counter-attack synergy of Nico and Kinnara, aiming to enhance counterattack damage and marksman unit attacks for effectively eliminating mages, who frequently target marksman legions. It thrives in smaller-scale PvP engagements where multiple mages engage in attacks against you (which is often the case).
Counter ATK DMG > Legion ATK > Unit ATKThe strategy is to lure the enemy into attacking you, leveraging the power of counterattacks to deal significant damage. To optimize this tactic, it is recommended to wait until the enemy’s troop count is reduced to 60%-80% before engaging. By drawing the attention of key targets, particularly mages, you can witness their forces diminish as they unwittingly inflict damage upon themselves.
Note: This build and pairing works best when you are the Springwarden or Wilderburg faction to increase counter attack damage done.
Nico+Gwanwyn/Syndrion | PvP, Single Target, Normal Attacks
This talent build for Nico focuses on the ability to eliminate individual enemy legions with devastating force. It prioritizes acquiring the largest multipliers for normal attack damage, including bonuses such as high normal attack damage and unit attack increases, and the frailty debuff. For optimal results, it is recommended to pair Nico with Syndrion, although Kinnara and Gwanwyn can serve as viable alternatives.
It’s important to note that while this build excels at delivering a single-target nuke, it may not be the most suitable choice if you anticipate being attacked by multiple targets simultaneously. This build is designed to maximize the damage output against a specific enemy legion, making it less effective in scenarios where you face multiple opponents simultaneously.
Note: This build and pairing works best when you are the League of Order faction to further increase Normal Attack damage dealt.
Legion ATK > Normal ATK > Unit ATK
Artifacts for Nico
- Prioritize artifacts that increase unit and legion attack to achieve the highest normal attack and hero skill damage possible.
- Artifacts that grant increased health and defense are viable options if anticipating being attacked by multiple targets and your goal is to maximize counter attack damage.
- Don’t use Viola’s Bow or Heart of Kamasi for PvE
- Only use Heart of Kamasi for a counter-attack oriented build and hero pairing.
Tips
- Avoid investing in talents that provide Onslaught, as they do not stack. The strongest stat increase will take precedence and overwrite weaker versions.
- Nico’s fourth skill, “Greymar’s Ballista,” grants significant bonuses to normal attacks and counter-attacks, but they only apply after casting a rage skill. This effect can only be triggered once every 7 seconds. Therefore, it is ideal to cast a rage skill every 8th second to maintain this effect as frequently as possible. To achieve this, invest in the High Spirits talent to increase the probability of gaining rage quickly enough to cast rage skills at the 8th second mark.
