Call of Dragons Garwood Guide
Talents: CoD Heroes Garrison Infantry Tank
Consider incorporating Garwood as your infantry commander, an excellent option for both free-to-play and pay-to-win players. With a 5/1/1/1 skill configuration, he is effective even at base levels and becomes even more formidable with hero token investments. Garwood's healing capabilities, complemented by his robust defense bonuses, enable him to endure battles for extended periods, making him an ideal choice for safeguarding your legions on the front line.
Garwood Hero Skills
Garwood skill upgrade order
- 1Initiate skill upgrades with Revitalizing Rune, taking it to level 5 before proceeding with further promotions.
- 2After achieving level 5 for Revitalizing Rune, promote Garwood to level 4 to unlock his remaining 3 skills. This strategy increases the likelihood of avoiding upgrades to the second skill, "Tempered Bark," which is primarily effective in Garrison scenarios. The goal is to prioritize the enhancement of the third and fourth skills while entirely bypassing the second skill.

Artifacts for Garwood
If you want to play a Tank role, choose Dragonscale Armor (if you will be in tight spaces), Greymar’s Warhammer or Fang of Ashkari (best used with higher march speeds to position to hit maximum targets), and Harlequin Mask (budget tank option if you lack the legendary artifacts).
If you want to play an offensive role, where you are diving into the enemy flank and positioning yourself in melee range of mages and marksman, then select Springblades or Butcher’s Blade.
Tips
- Garwood’s fourth ability, “Thistles and Thorns,” provides a bonus to Physical Damage increase. This bonus applies to artifacts that deal physical damage. If you are utilizing an artifact that inflicts physical damage, try to synchronize its use with this bonus to enhance the artifact’s damage output.
- When your legion benefits from the Resilience bonus granted by Garwood’s rage skill, Madeline’s Resilience will not be able to take effect. Only the more potent version will be applicable, which in this case is Garwood’s 20% bonus, as opposed to Madeline’s 10%.
