Call of Dragons Hydra Guide
The Hydra presents a challenging and fast-paced battle among the behemoths. The screen is filled with numerous projectiles and effects, which can be overwhelming, especially for newer raid participants. However, there's no need to be intimidated. Success in this fight boils down to a few key strategies: maintaining a spread-out formation, channeling manastones, and strategically positioning yourself on fissures.

Hydra guide
The encounter begins with the raid spread out along the edges and the tank engaging in the center. Give the tank a few seconds to attack to build threat before attacking, otherwise you pull the Hydra. Tanks should taunt to recover threat whenever necessary. If the Hydra moves into the raid, the raid should disperse to avoid short range area-of-effect damage.
Throughout the raid the Hydra will drop red “unstable” manastones. Aquiring them grant a bonus in damage. Higher damage dealers have 19 seconds to aquire a manastone. If the timer on a stone goes to 8 or below, anyone should channel and acquire the bonus to avoid it exploding and damaging the raid.
During the fight, players should continue to stay spread out to better avoid the Hydras more potent additional area of effect attacks. This includes poisonous globules, a long range arc attack, rain of poison, and a short range linear charge attack.
Eventually the Hydra will rush to the back of the arena and knock all players back and away from it. It then summons crevice that players will have to stand over or else they explode damaging the entire raid. Additionally, the Hydra will send out poisonous trails that will damage players. Prioritize standing on the crevices, but if you can, dodge and avoid these poison trails.
Note: Only one player needs to stand on a crevice at a time. It’s important to remember that standing on a crevice will inflict a stack of poison, so players should avoid stacking on the same crevice.
It’s crucial to keep evading the poison trail fissures unleashed by the Hydra, especially in the Elite version where the poison inflicts significant damage. Players should prioritize dodging the poison instead of focusing solely on damaging the Hydra.
At some point the Hydra will release several green dispelling manastones. Players should stop attacking the Hydra and immediately move towards them and channel to unlock a radial area of effect healing. You need a total of 10 players to channel the stone to receive healing.
Note: Dispelling Manastones also cleanse players of the poison stacks. It is imperritive that you stop doing damage and channel these Manastones. Especially during the Elite version of the Hydra.
Continue to cycle through all of the previous boss mechanics until you defeat the Hydra.
Tips
Note: Need 20 players to purify 2 healing stones. If you do not have the required amount of players, and the Hydra is not close to dying, it is recommended that you leave the arena and start over.
Elite Version:
- Hydra has 150% increased health points, attack, and defence.
- Ranged units deal 20% less damage
- Poison Rain appears at random locations every 50 seconds. Deals 500 magic skill damage to legions within range every second, for 10 seconds.
- Whenever Hydra’s Agony Blast defeats a legion, it restores health points equivalent to 2% of its max health points.
